Despite these tough economic times, this new restaurant, which opened Feb. 13, is thriving. “It’s the right concept at the right time,” says general manager John-Mark Larter. “It’s also the right price point. You can come in for dinner, tax, tip and beer for $16.” Expect fresh, unique and affordable Asian-inspired cuisine paired with attentive and friendly service and classic, “old-school” handcrafted cocktails. The signature dish is a big bowl of ramen noodles, with the chef’s own chicken broth, and chicken or pork and veggies. And there are lots of other wholesome and creative dishes to try. Larter encourages families to come and feel right at home at Happy Noodle: “The food comes quickly, in less than 10 minutes, and with the openness of the space and community seating, it’s a rambunctious restaurant on some nights – filled with families, serious diners, and cocktail drinkers.” Once the kitchen closes for the day, the bar takes center stage and the place is transformed into a kind of Prohibition-era speakeasy. Conveniently, Happy Noodle offers take-out, too.
