The Wellness Center educates and empowers its clients and promotes prevention of chronic disease through healthy lifestyle activities. “People take responsibility and have success, and they feel empowered,” says Director of Wellness Lyn McQueen. And you don’t have to be a resident of Frasier Meadows to participate. “We have about 60 community members who come through. Some are younger people who need a quiet warm-water pool. Others who come are looking for a smaller environment with more individual attention. We don’t compete with the recreation centers and clubs. Everybody knows you when you come in, and every one of the staff can help you with your individualized program.” An activity at the Wellness Center that is attracting adherents and is also available to community members is “Egoscue,” a postural alignment system based on yoga postures.
