Bartlett Interiors has been decorating and furnishing Boulder homes for nearly 50 years. Started by a Boulder family in 1960, Jane Bartlett joined the business in 1975 and bought it in 1984, the same year her sister, Nancy, joined her in the enterprise. “We are a small, but full-service interior design firm – just two people,” Jane Bartlett says. “We deal with all aspects of residential and commercial design.” They have a large library of fabrics, tile, carpeting and more. “We also have a showroom of furniture and accessories, with hand-picked pieces of nice quality, collectible things, not throw-away things. They have a homier feel than you find in other stores. We’d love to have them in our own homes.” And the Bartletts have a consulting service – from small to large assignments. It can be one pillow, reupholstering a chair, or consulting on remodeling one or more rooms in a home. The secrets of their success: “We try to be good listeners and hear what people want, so they’re not intimidated by the process. We have years of experience that we love passing on to people, teaching them and working with things they already own, making it their home, not ours.”
