Hoshi Motors owner Laurie Farmen got her first under-the-hood experience while attending a vocational technical school in New Mexico. “I found out, I really liked it,” she says. “We opened 22 years ago and in that time we have developed personal relationships with many of our customers. Confidence is so important in deciding where to take your car for service. We pride ourselves on our honesty and our competence.” Customers appreciate the continuity they find at Hoshi Motors; some of Farmen’s technicians have been with her for more than 20 years and know customers by their name and their car model. “We don’t blow our own whistle much. We rely on our reputation and word-of-mouth recommendations from our customers. Anything else we need to know? “Oh yes, we also like dogs a lot!” Farmen says.
