This is the third year in a row that Hearing HealthCare Centers have won the Boulder County Gold People’s Choice Award. What are they doing that’s special? “We make people feel very comfortable,” says owner and director Whitney Swander, Au.D. “We have an open-door policy for people to come in if anything is troubling them. Also, we like to be their source if they hear about any new technology and for all aspects of hearing care.” Clients receive attentive follow-up care, too. Before they leave the office, the staff makes another appointment for them. “So we know we’re going to see them again, whether it’s in a week or six months,” Dr. Swander says. With technology changing all the time, she points out, hearing aids are not like they were even five years ago. “We urge people to come in and learn what’s available today. They can try on many types and styles. It’s important that people know they don’t need to put it off, and that it can be a pleasant surprise.”
